Free WiFi Wireless Internet Hotspots in Las Vegas, Nevada
62
Nearly every major hotel/casino in Las Vegas offers some form of wireless internet or wi-fi for their customers to use. This usage comes with a cost that averages out to being around $12 per day. Some of the hotels bundle this service in with a couple of access to a gym or a free newspaper and charge what is called a "resort fee." This can be $15 or even more. I'll discuss resort fees further in another article. The controversy around these fees makes it worth its while to write a separate article. For now, I would recommend checking with your chosen hotel to see if a fee is going to be charged before you book your room, even if you have a free room offer.
If you want brief internet access to use for checking email or posting pictures to your Facebook profile then it is not likely worth paying for a full day’s access. Locations on the Las Vegas Strip, downtown on Fremont Street and even in some of the outlying areas offer wifi as a way to draw in customers. Most of the places that offer this are donut or coffee shops and other dining spots that hope you'll choose to purchase food or beverage from them while you're using their internet access. Here's a list of a few locations I personally know of (accurate as of January, 2011)
- Excalibur Hotel and Casino – The Krispy Kreme Donut Shop
- Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf – A coffee shop in the Miracle Mile mall at Planet Hollywood
- Downtown Las Vegas – Main Street Station Hotel Lobby
- Sugar and Ice – A dessert shop at the Wynn Hotel
- The Orleans Casino- Across most of the property (take care NOT to use the official casino connection as you will be charged, but this is just an open connection.)
- The Venetian and Palazzo Hotel and Casino – Across Much of the Property
- Every location of Mcdonald’s is supposed to have access, however this is not always the case. In many cases this does not work.
- McCarran Airport – Much of the airport is wifi friendly. I have sat in many different gates and had perfect access.
This isn’t an all-inclusive list, but can get you started. The web page I found many of these spots at is http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas-free-wifi.php. Using these locations you can feed your Farmville addiction without having to pay a ridiculous daily fee giving you more cash to gamble, eat and enjoy the nightlife in amazing Las Vegas, Nevada.
