The Many Health Benefits of Infrared Saunas
63Infrared Saunas
Infrared Saunas are a relatively new invention and the full benefits have not yet been realized even by those who are experts in sauna therapy. In a traditional sauna the temperature must reach a very high level to enable your body to sweat. For a short session this feels great and provides excellent therapeutic benefits. However, the human body is not able to handle the heat associated with a traditional sauna for a long period of time. Because of this the user must leave the sauna environment before they have received the full impact of healing from the time spent in the sauna.
An infrared sauna works differently than a traditional sauna because instead of heating the air around the body the “Far-infrared radiant heat” heats the body directly. It does not raise the temperature of the air that surrounds the body, so the body will absorb all of the healing benefits without risking damage due to heat.
Benefits Over Traditional Saunas
The infrared heat can penetrate deeper into the body than traditional sauna heat as well. This type of energy travels two to three inches into the body instead of merely heating the skin surface. This brings the healing properties to more of the body. So, not only will you be able to experience the therapy for a longer session, the time that you spend in the sauna will be more productive and provide a more benefits.
The basic idea behind infrared technology is to provide the best health benefits of the sun without exposing the body to the ultraviolet rays that can cause damage to our skin. Hundreds of years ago people could spend more time in the sun and reap these benefits without the risk of skin cancer. The depletion of the ozone layer has made this impossible, until now. With the invention of the infrared sauna, a person is able to get all of the benefits of the sun with no risk.
Health Benefits of Saunas
Infrared saunas can provide therapeutic benefits for a wide variety of people. They are not designed as a way to heal one particular type of ailment, but can instead be used as a treatment for many different things.
Doctors will recommend infrared saunas to their patients for many different issues. It is very common for treatment in an infrared sauna to be recommended to those who are trying to lose weight, control their blood pressure, reduce cholesterol levels and many other serious medical issues.
Sauna Therapy for Toxin Removal
The penetrating heat into the body has the capability of removing toxins from deep inside the body and transferring them out through the skin. There are many pollutants that our bodies absorb in everyday life, and this is one of the best ways of helping the body get rid of them. Pollutants that the body absorbs include: lead, mercury, tobacco, mold, household and industrial chemicals, hair dye, emissions from cars and more.
Everyone has these substances in their body in
some form and will see immediate benefits from infrared saunas helping the body
to remove them. Many diseases can be
prevented, and the overall health of the body will increase by removing the
accumulation of these substances.
The benefits of an infrared sauna are clearly something that cannot be ignored. An infrared sauna is without a doubt one of
the best investments that anyone can make in their overall health.
